Mimizan Markets

The markets of Mimizan are a must for all lovers of good seasonal and local products. Places of exchange and discovery, come and have a look to have a good time during your stay at the Mimizan Lac campsite or at the Mimizan Plage campsite.

The open air market

Fancy cooking a tasty meal for lunch or finding something to whip up a delicious snack for your day at the beach? Stroll among the stands: you will find something to satisfy your taste buds. Need a little light jacket to face the chill of summer evenings during your vacation weekend? You will easily find what you are looking for in the traditional mixed market.

This lively and welcoming market brings together food exhibitors and clothing vendors. It takes place throughout the year, every Friday, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., in Mimizan bourg, behind the town hall on Place Félix Poussade.

The seasonal market, for its part, takes place from June 15 to September 15, every Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Mimizan Plage, between the tourist office and the arenas, on the Ségosa promenade. If you want to discover another year-round market not far from Mimizan, find that of Bias, located 6.5 km away, every Tuesday, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., in the parking lot of the bakery.

The covered market of Mimizan plage

On the market square, find a dozen small local producers. Fruits and vegetables, poultry, cheeses, go picking delicious fresh produce for your midday meal, or catching fresh fish brought back in the fishermen’s nets that morning, on direct sale from the boats. To top up your iodine level, there’s nothing like tasting a fresh oyster while chatting with traders and locals.

Stroll through the market admiring the florists’ compositions while sniffing the good smell emanating from the bakery stalls. Discover regional products. Finally, escape to the paradise of summer scents by strolling in front of the delicatessen: scented olives, oils, tapenades and spices from around the world will flatter your nostrils.

Outside the summer period, the market is held from Tuesday to Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and from June 15 to September 15, daily, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The artisanal night market of Mimizan

Every summer, in July-August, the evenings take on a particular relief in Mimizan. Illuminated stands, concerts: the streets come alive. From decorative items to jewelry, clothing or even natural products, you will necessarily find a holiday souvenir to bring back to your loved ones.

Regional products such as foie gras, duck breasts, Landes pastis, floc or even Armagnac are also in the spotlight, to bring back in your luggage to delight future evenings with family or friends.

The craft night market takes place on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m., rue de la Poste, in Mimizan beach.
